A lovely sunny morning yesterday so Jill and I visited Childwickbury. I walked all round The Green to see every poppy, that Green which all of those men had known well. At first I didn’t find Uncle Harry’s Poppy and then there it was, well placed in front of that picturesque cottage for the photo I had planned to take. Well done Christine - we look forward to your aim of a permanent memorial to those from Childwickbury who gave their lives in the two World Wars.

Hi Christine,
Just to say that, on my way home from St Albans this afternoon, I popped into Childwickbury to see the "Poppies On The Green".
Very impressive they are too and I think that spreading them out around The Green works well too because it shows that they relate to men from the whole estate.
